Dear Parent/Guardian and Delta Student:

Greetings. Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! School will start on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

STUDENTS:  All students will be assigned either an AM session or a PM session.  Class schedules will be distributed on the first day of school by your assigned Advisor.  Advisor names will be posted on the first day of school. On Fridays, ALL students attend a.m. session only (8:00 – 11:00 a.m.)

If you are enrolled in the Independent Study Program, please contact the school office (805) 937-6356 to schedule an appointment with your teacher.

Safety: Enhanced safety protocols will remain in place, and we will follow the updated guidance of State and County Public Health. All students are required to wear masks when indoors. When outdoors, students may remove their face coverings.

Attendance:  Good attendance is crucial to a good education. Make a commitment to attend every day and arrive on time. Remember, your number one goal is to complete your required units to receive your high school diploma. Students who fall below 85% attendance will be referred to our outreach coordinator for intervention.

School Transportation: There will be free school bus transportation for those students who live 3.5 miles from Delta High School. Enclosed is the bus schedule. Note: You will be issued a school ID the first week of school. Your school ID will be required to ride the school bus (there will be a grace period for the first couple days of school). If you lose your ID another one will be issued for a $3 fee.

Free & Reduced Lunch: All students may receive a breakfast and lunch at no charge for this school year. Please see enclosed informational sheet for more information on filling out a survey – filling the survey out benefits Delta High School students.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Participation in your child’s education is invaluable. You can keep track of attendance, class assignments and grades by logging on to the Aeries Parent/Student Portal. Go to our website www.deltahs.org and click on Aeries Parent/Student Portal (the eagle on the right side). If you have provided the school with your email address, you will be able to create an account. There is a 7-minute video you may watch.

Emergency Contact Information:

Please update and keep your student’s emergency contact information current on the Aeries Parent/Student Portal.

Parental Support: If you need assistance accessing the Aeries Parent Portal or filling out forms, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Martha Janzen, at ext. 1742 for on-campus assistance.
